If you are booking a flight and you want to know the best side to sit on in the plane, to view a sunset or sunrise or to avoid having the sun in your eyes, then you need Sunflight.net.

Sunflight.net lets you enter any flight number and visualise on a Google Map the position of the sun, relative to the position of your plane, at all stages of your journey. The map displays the flight route, the sun’s position and the day/night status across the globe.

A slider tool allows you to view the sun’s position at all stages during the flight. Using the slider you can therefore find out when during your flight you will have the chance to view a sunset or sunrise and you can also determine which side of the plane will have the best views of the sun.

Currently Sunflight, net only works in the Chrome browser.
